Partnership with the Productive Sector

Partnerships with the productive sector add value and generate employment. Some projects involve the development of products using regional and non-conventional raw materials as alternatives for the production of sustainable and healthy foods. Below are listed some of these activities:

Márcia Vidigal: Technological center for cocoa farming in non-traditional regions. This proposal involves the formation of a pool of laboratories, including the Soil Fertility, Irrigation and Drainage, Plant Product Processing Technology, and Cultivated Plant Physiology laboratories, along with two other institutions in Minas Gerais: UFMG and UFV. Planned activities include analysis of nutrient and heavy metal contents in soil, leaves, and almonds, chocolate and cocoa honey powder production, determination of crop coefficient (Kc), effective root system depth, and ecophysiological measurements. 2023–present.
