ACCREDITATION AND RE-ACCREDITATION OF FACULTY IN PPGCTA
Article 26 The Professors-Advisors of the Program will form the Graduate Group in Food Science and Technology and will be nominated by the Program Coordinator, after analysis by the coordinating committee of the accreditation or re-accreditation request, along with the required documentation for the application.
§1 The accreditation or re-accreditation of advisors in the PPGCTA will be carried out every 4 years, at the end of the CAPES quadriennial evaluation.
§2 Any omissions will be evaluated by the Coordinating Committee.
Article 27 To be accredited as a Professor-Advisor in the Graduate Program in Food Science and Technology, in addition to complying with the General Regulations of Strictu Sensu Graduate Programs at UFV, the candidate for Advisor must meet the following criteria:
§1 For accreditation:
- Not having been de-accredited from the Program in the last four years;
- Actively teaching undergraduate courses with a minimum average workload of 60 hours per year;
- Having participated as a co-advisor (at PPGCTA, another PPG at UFV, or another Graduate Program in Food Science) of at least four graduates (equivalent to a dissertation) in the last 4 years;
- Providing proof of participation in a funded project in the last four years, or being a level 1 CNPq fellowship holder;
- Being a co-author of articles published in A1, A2, A3, or A4 journals (Qualis CAPES), totaling at least 4.0 points in the last 4 years, calculated as per the Food Science Area document of CAPES: A1 = 1.00, A2 = 0.85, A3 = 0.75, A4 = 0.55 points;
§2 Any omissions will be evaluated by the Coordinating Committee.
§3 For re-accreditation:
- Having taught at least 30 hours per year, on average, in graduate courses in the area of concentration of PPGCTA during the evaluation period;
- Having completed the supervision of at least four graduates (equivalent to a dissertation) in PPGCTA in the last four years;
- Having coordinated at least one funded project (in the last four years), or being a level 1 CNPq fellowship holder;
- Being a co-author of articles with PPGCTA students published in A1, A2, A3, or A4 journals (Qualis CAPES – Food Science) during the last four years, totaling at least 5.85 points (or 4.85 points for advisors seeking their first re-accreditation), calculated according to the Food Science and Technology Area document at CAPES (A1 = 1.00, A2 = 0.85, A3 = 0.75, A4 = 0.55, B1 = 0.40, B2 = 0.30, B3 = 0.20, B4 = 0.10, B5 = 0.05 points);
- At least two of the articles published must have a Qualis A1 or A2 level.
The articles will be counted in the A1/docente do PPGCTA article equivalent (NA1-Eq-doc), as per Equation 1.
Where Ai is the article “i”, Ndoc is the number of PPGCTA faculty co-authors of article “i”, and PQualis is the Qualis weight (A1 = 1.00, A2 = 0.85, A3 = 0.75, A4 = 0.55, B1 = 0.40, B2 = 0.30, B3 = 0.20, B4 = 0.10, B5 = 0.05).
The submission of a patent application to INPI will count as an A1/article for PPGCTA faculty, according to Equation 2.
Where Pi is the patent request “i” submitted to INPI, and Ndoc is the number of PPGCTA faculty co-authors of the request “i”.
§4 Any omissions will be analyzed by the Coordinating Committee, who will make the final decision.
Article 28 A Professor-Advisor may leave the Group at any time, upon request.
